SEO Tools For Your Business

Planning to do your own SEO?

SEO SERVICES ARE NOT FOR EVERY BUSINESS

We understand that paying for an SEO service that delivers you genuine results (page one of Google for your best keywords) is expensive, but the amount of money you spend needs to be proportionate to the increase in revenue your business receives.

Cheap SEO services with inexpensive blanket or category prices will NOT deliver your business profitable results. CoolBison understand this because we know how much work and skill is involved in top rankings for quality, business specific keywords…The work is immense, time consuming, and requires special skills if you’re going to find profitable success. Every SEO agency needs to make money so it’s not economical for the average SEO firm to invest the time and effort required to deliver the results your online properties will need. But more importantly, the majority of UK and international SEO companies don’t possess the knowledge, skill, tools or understanding to rank websites on page one and position one of the SERPS.

SEO agencies tend to charge cookie cutter prices and ship the work out to cheap service countries like Pakistan and the Philippines. The result is thousands of spammy link networks all pointing back to your businesses hub website. Within six months that website will incur a Google penalty and be thrown out of the Google search results altogether.

Professional, cutting-edge search engine optimisation does cost. If your business has a small advertising budget and you don’t want to waste it on a company that cannot deliver, there are some things you can do yourself.

Listed below are a few important SEO tools, and SEO tips you can learn and use to start improving the performance of your website. Some are basic free tools and some are paid. [CoolBison use some of the tools mentioned but many of our software’s have been developed by us and our team in America, and are therefore not listed or shared with the public.]

You may also find Google’s search engine optimisation starter guide useful.

1. GOOGLE KEYWORD PLANNER – Free

It’s primary purpose is to help advertisers that wish to pay Google to advertise on their Ad Words system. For small business owners Ad Words is a great tool because it allows you to identify keyword phrases that relate specifically to your business, its products or services; and measure those keyword search volumes. So you can get an idea of the kind of searches your typical customer uses to find businesses just like yours.

2. SERPS RANK CHECKER – Free and Paid

Find out where your website is in the rankings. Check keyword rankings positions in Google or Yahoo from over 100 country and language combinations. The free rank checker can look-up rankings in dozens of countries. Use it to spot check keyword rankings anytime.

This is not the best tool in the world and it takes a few minutes to do its thing, but the results are reasonably accurate and good enough for the average person.

3. Google Webmaster Tools – Free

If you’re even remotely interested in your websites current performance and how to improve it you’ll need this suggestion. Webmaster Tools is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results. You don’t have to sign up for Webmaster Tools for your site to be included in Google’s search results, but doing so can help you understand how Google views your site and optimize its performance in search results – This is a great tool and one that we use at CoolBison!

4. AHREFS – Partially Free But Paid is Recommended

We had to include this tool because it is so good, provided you know how to use it. Ahrefs allows you to look at the back-link profile (among other things) of your competitors websites. Linking is extremely important when it comes to ranking in the real Google search results, although it is only one of many factors. This tool lets you see where your competition are linking. For example, if I have a car dealership and my website is linking to other car dealership sites, or sites relating to the motor industry, this can have a positive impact on my sites ranking position…But linking is a complex subject to explain as there are good and bad links to be had. Unfortunately many SEO companies employ inferior, spam type link profiles to their clients sites which can have a catastrophic impact in the long run.   Spam links can work in the very short term, are easy to apply and vast in their numbers. But this is something Google is cracking down on and you will get penalized if your site is involved in this kind of activity.

5. YOUTUBE – Free

Well we’ve included YouTube because it is a great resource for learning. If you employ any of the tools listed above, you’ll want to know how to use them. Go along to YouTube, tap in the name of the tool and there will be videos that show you how to use those tools. Also…YouTube is a wonderful way to get more exposure to your business and its website. It’s quite possible to rank video in the Google search engine results pages (SERPS) for keyword phrases that relate to your business.

CoolBison have an expert YouTube ranking product that ties in with our main search engine optimisation strategy. We rank video in Google and help businesses DOMINATE their competition.
